Luce Family - A Saint Simons Island Family Session at Gould's Inlet

There are some sessions that feel deeply personal—this was one of them.

Photographing Devon and her sweet family on the shores of Saint Simons Island was more than just a beautiful evening at the beach. It was a celebration of life, love, and the resilience of a family who has been through so much together.

We met at Gould's Inlet, just in front of the mansion where Devon and her husband were married. The setting was peaceful, the tide low, and the sky lit up with the most perfect pink sunset. It felt like the island was showing off just for them.

I’ve known Devon for years—we’ve shot countless weddings together side by side. But watching her now as a mom, and knowing what she’s survived, made this moment even more powerful. After a life-threatening brain aneurysm, every memory, every milestone, carries an even deeper meaning. It was an honor to witness this one.

Their session was full of joy—barefoot giggles, sandy hugs, and quiet moments that said everything without a word.

Being trusted to capture memories like this is something I never take for granted.
