Oken Family Session at Montage Palmetto Bluff
There’s something extra special about documenting families during these beautifully busy seasons of life, and the Oken family’s evening session at Montage Palmetto Bluff was full of the sweetest moments.
With golden light pouring through the trees, we wandered through some of Palmetto Bluff’s most iconic spots, from the chapel bridge to the sprawling oak trees draped in Spanish moss. Their little boys completely stole the show with their big smiles, playful energy, and endless curiosity. From swinging between mom and dad on the bridge to being tossed high under the oaks, every part of the session felt relaxed, joyful, and genuinely them.
One of my favorite things about family sessions at Palmetto Bluff is how naturally it invites families to slow down and simply be together. The boardwalks, quiet paths, glowing marsh light, and dreamy Lowcountry scenery create the perfect backdrop without ever taking attention away from the connection between a family.
The Oken family embraced every moment of it. The laughter, the cuddles, the tiny expressions from their youngest, and the excitement from their oldest made this session such a fun one to photograph. These are the kinds of images that will only grow more meaningful with time.
Montage Palmetto Bluff continues to be one of my favorite places for family photography sessions in the South Carolina Lowcountry, especially during golden hour when the entire property glows.
If you’re planning a visit to Palmetto Bluff and would love to document your family while you’re here, I’d love to help create something timeless and relaxed for your crew.
