Heiges Family Fall Session at The Landings in Savannah

Fall family sessions in The Landings always have such a timeless feel, and the Heiges family’s evening session along the river and golf course was full of joyful, playful moments that perfectly captured this season of life for their family.

With the marsh breeze blowing and palm trees lining the water, the setting could not have been more beautiful for a classic coastal fall session. The kids brought so much personality to the evening, from running along the paths to laughing together on the bridge and pointing out boats across the water. Those candid in-between moments are always some of my favorites because they preserve the energy and personality of childhood exactly as it is.

One thing I loved about this session was how relaxed and natural it felt. The Heiges family fully embraced letting the kids play, explore, and simply enjoy being together. That always creates the most meaningful images. The sweet sibling moments, tiny expressions, and genuine laughter throughout the session made this gallery such a fun one to document.

The combination of the golf course views, riverfront scenery, and Lowcountry landscape at The Landings gives so much variety for family photography while still keeping everything cohesive and timeless. It’s especially beautiful during fall when the light softens and the evenings feel a little slower.

Sessions like these are such a reminder that family photographs do not have to be perfectly posed to be meaningful. Sometimes the most treasured images come from the running, laughing, twirling, and chaos in between.
